It was founded in the year 1976 by Bob Morrisey.
Three years later, it was taken over by
Marvin Shanken. Since then it was moved to its current in New York. Every year it publishes fifteen issues which include articles, profiles and general entertainment fragments. Each issue includes reviews and tasting notes of four hundred to
More Than thousand wines. Also, every year it announces the magazine’s Top hundred wines, and Wine of the year.
Operations:
It provides its rating on a 50-100 scale wherein a score of 50-74 is not recommended and the highest score of 95-100 is Classic- a great wine. The wine critics who figure among Wine Spectator’s tasting and reviewing panel are James Laube, Harvey Steiman, Bruce Sanderson, Kim Marcus and James Molesworth. It was ranked as the “No. 1 business and consumer publication among wealthy readers” by the Luxury Institute in 2008.
