What is Whitby Go Station Contact?
Whitby Go Station is located in Whitby, Ontario, Canada, which is a train and bus station under the Go Transit network. Until 1995, it was the eastern terminus of the dedicated GO Transit right-of-way. These tracks were extended to Oshawa in 1995. The station is a stop on the Lakeshore East line.
History
At the foot of Byron Street near to where the current GO station is located,
Whitby Junction Station was built in 1903 by the Grand Trunk Railway. In 1969, it was closed whereas in 1971, the building was moved to the north-east corner of Victoria Street and Henry Street for use as an art gallery. Again in 2005, the building was relocated across the street into Whitby Iroquois Park at the north-west corner of the intersection. At the harbour in Whitby, the southerly terminus of the Whitby, Port Perry and Lindsay
Railway & that line linked with the Grand Trunk Railway.
Station Layout
The Whitby GO Station is located on the south side of Highway 401 and west of Brock Street. There are several facilities like ticket agent, waiting room and public washroom inside the station. On the north-east of the building, the bus loop is located and directly in front passenger pick-up/drop-off area is located. Inside the station, there are about 3000 parking spaces available and carpool parking is also permitted.
Go Bus consists of Port Perry and Oshawa Highway 401. Both these buses provide services from Monday to Friday.
Go Train consists of West/Otter Creek, Brock/Robert Attersley, Garden, Thickson, Bloor/Victoria that provide services from Monday to Friday whereas GO Trains like Otter Creek/Garden/Whitby Shores, Anderson and Brock/Brooklin offers their service every day to passengers.
