What is Metro Transit Halifax?
Metro Transit Halifax is a Canadian public transport agency in the city of Halifax of Nova Scotia province that provides public transportation services in the form of running buses in the city. The agency was formed in the year 1979 and is owned and operated by Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM). The services offered by the agency includes providing bus services, paratransit services and ferry services. The agency covers nearly 60 routes in the city having a total over 2,200 bus stoppages. Before the formation of the agency four other companies were holding the responsibility of providing bus services in the city those were named as' Nova Scotia Light and Power Company, Limited', 'Halifax Transit Corporation', 'Dartmouth Transit' and 'Dartmouth Transit Service Buses Ltd.' The company holds a large fleet of over 320 buses consisting of B20 biodiesel, and hybrid vehicles that are operating on different routes. The vehicles in its fleet are equipped with Global Positioning Systems(GPSs).
