What is Meerut Development Authority?

Meerut development authority is the nodal agency of government of Uttar Pradesh which is responsible for sustainable development of Meerut. It implements the master plan for the city which includes providing of basic amenities to the residents, infrastructural development, environment conservation and development of rural areas. The authority has taken up some prime objectives for the city as reduction of population, restricted individuals per hectare and to maintain a steady pace of development with the Regions adjoining the city. Meerut development authority has both short term and long term planning in hand as limiting the population of the city and maintaining a development objective with other states as Haryana and Rajasthan. This city has been selected as main satellite city so that the problems of pollution and curbing of population can be done by Meerut development authority and they can make plans for better development of areas.
