After two year, Suwa Seikosha formed a new company as the Shinshu Seiki Company to market precision parts for Seiko watches. Epson America Inc started selling of printers for Shinshu Seiki Company in April 1975, and in the same year, the Epson name was also adopted as brand name. In 1982, the brand name became company name called Epson Corporation. During the same year, Epson was also famed as an inventor of the world's first handheld computer. In November 1985, Suwa Seikosha Co., Ltd. and the Epson Corporation merged to bacome Seiko Epson Corporation.
