Brief History
The history of Daily Herald was started in 1872 as Arlington Heights Herald by former teacher Hosea C. Paddock. The publication was done on weekly basis for almost a century. The newspaper expanded its
Roots by acquiring numerous local weekly newspapers with help Paddock and his son Stuart. The publishing was increased to five days a week in 1968. Saturday and Sunday were covered in 1975 and 1978 respectively. The name of the newspaper was changed to Daily Herald in the year 1977.
