What is University of Ottawa Contact?
The University of Ottawa is a co-educational research university which provides a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses regarding accounting, Asian studies, biology, Canadian studies, chemistry, civil law, commerce, computer engineering, electrical engineering, geography, gerontology and lots more. Its main campus is located in Ottawa, Ontario and covers an area of around 105 acres. The university includes ten faculties and forty research centers. It serves over 41,000 students annually.
The University of Ottawa is affiliated to the Canadian Bureau for International Education, the International Association of Universities, Ontario University Athletics and Association of Universities of the Canadian Francophonie. The university was founded in the year 1848 under the name College of Bytown by the French priest Joseph-Bruno Guigues. In 1861, it changed its name to the College of Ottawa. Later on, the college was granted with university status in 1889. The university has various facilities for the students including hostel facility, seminar rooms, teaching laboratories and research laboratories. The university of Ottawa has also facility of six library which have large volume of books, the archives and generals. It also give accommodation facility to the students through seven residential halls consisting Marchand Hall, Hyman Soloway, LeBlanc Hall, Thompson Hall, Brooks etc.
In addition to this, the University of Ottawa also offers sports facilities to the students consisting basketball, soccer, badminton, swimming and more. It has 29 varsity teams which are called as Gee-Gees.
