Thunder Bay Airport also known as Thunder Bay International Airport, a public airport in Thunder Bay city of Ontario province. It is owned by Transport Canada, a department of the Government of Canada. Thunder Bay Airport handled 761,000 number of visitors in the year 2012 and became the sixteenth busiest airport in Canada. Flights at the airports are operated by the Thunder Bay International Airports Authority.
Thunder Bay Airport Inception
Thunder Bay International Airport was setup in the year 1938 under the name
Fort William Municipal Airport. In 1997, the airport took its present name, i.e. Thunder Bay International Airport. The airport is having two terminals for passengers waiting at the airport for their flights. Thunder Bay airport provides world class facilities for the passengers such as taxi service, wireless internet, restroom, cafe, shopping center, children's play areas, worship centre, security services, baggage carts, phone services and parking space, etc. Thunder Bay airport went through renovation several times since its inception, but the major one was done in the year 1994.
