What is Tandberg?

Tandberg is one of the Video conference and the telecommunications equipment manufacturer company that came into existence in 1993 in Oslo, New York city in the United States. The company was founded by the Vebjorn Tandberg. The first radio was named as "Tommeliten" that used only the earphones. It was followed through "Corona" with a loudspeaker. The company competes with several firms such as Polycom, Sony, HP, VTEL, Radvision and Aethra. Tandberg company was acquired by the Cisco Systems on 19 April 2010. At the time of establishment, the company manufactured only loudspeakers, microphones and radios in the factory. During that time the Huldra radios and Sovsuper became the foundation for the Tandberg success in the country. In 1950, the company was opened a branch plant in Kjelsas in Oslo for producing reel to reel tape recorders. It introduced the TB 1, which was the first model of the company in 1952. With the passage of time company expended its business and manufactured TB 2 Hi Fi in the year of 1956, Three tape transport speeds and improved the high frequency services for the customers. In 1957, it introduced TB 3 Stereo that was the Tandberg first stereo system and cross-field recording technique used which was used in Tb 6X in 1960. The First branch in the United States was opened in 1995 in Connecticut. In the year of 1997 the television manufacturing portions became the Tandberg Television. The company had more than 1,450 employees. It was headquartered in Lysaker, Norway, in the United States. The company was closed on April 19, 2010.
