What is Steel Authority India Mumbai Office?

Steel Authority of India is a public firm which deals in the manufacturing of Steel products throughout the country. It was founded on 19th January 1954 at New Delhi, India. The industry has spread its presence to many locations including Mumbai. The Mumbai Office of State authority of India manufactures Steel, Wire products, long steel products, Plates, flat steel and steel. It is a Big public sector which is operated and managed by the Government of India. The firm is having five integrated steel plants which are located in different locations such as Bhilai, Bokaro, Rourkela, Durgapur and Burnpur. It also has three special steel plants located at Bhadravathi, Salem and Durgapur. Due to its massive growth plans, the firm is about to build a new project with wide facilities on the state of the art green technology. In a recent survey, it has been found that “SAIL” is the biggest and highest growing public sector. Sail also established its various centres including Management Training institute (MTI), SAIL Safety Organization (SSO), Centre for Engineering & Technology (CET) and R&D centre for Iron & Steel (RDCIS) which are located at Ranchi (Jharkhand). The Ministry of steel decided to create a policy for the upcoming projects in order to manage the industries. The policy was sent to the parliament for the approval in the year 1972. SAIL has a record of manufacturing 13.4 million tonnes of crude steel.
