What is RTA?
RTA is also known as Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority or GCRTA, is a public transportation service provider in Cuyahoga County in the US state of Ohio. The agency operates with 60 rapid transit cars, 48 light rail cars, 492 buses and 80 ParaTransit shuttles. A nonprofit organization, the American Public Transportation Association, recognized the agency as the continent's best public transit system in 2007.
Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority specializes in Rapid transit, Light or Heavy rail and Bus rapid transit services. The RTA began operations on 5th of September of 1975. The RTA vehicles carries a large number of people daily and the passengers also have the facility to book their tickets online. In western hemisphere, the first transit system which provides rapid direct transit service to its major airport from city’s downtown, named Cleveland Transit System is the RTA’s major predecessor. In North America, The American Public Transportation Association named the RTA as best public transit system for “demonstrating achievement in efficiency and effectiveness”.

The famous vehicle of RTA is colorful Community Bus with the Plasma TV or videos related to safety events, the bus available at Schools, Browns games, Community events, recreation centers and Indian games. This colorful bus is known specially for the school going children. As per the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) signed into law in 1990, the people who are physical disable are provided equal corresponding service to fulfill their transportation needs and this services is called “Paratransit Service”.
