What is Rhapsody Contact?
Rhapsody is an American Online music store of over 32 million songs, available on subscription basis. It is operated from corporate headquarters located in Seattle, Washington. It offers videos, online radio, songs and reviews to the subscribers. Rhapsody is compatible to the platforms like Windows, Android, iOS, BlackbBerry while streams on the audio system of Control4, Denon, Philips, TiVo, Onkyo etc. Its track file are available in the format of MP3, WMA, AAC, and AAC+.
The development work on Rhapsody was started in 1999 by Tim Bratton, Sylvain Rebaud, A. Brouaux, Nick Sincagila and Dave Lampton. It was launched as TuneTo.com, a radio service. Listen.com purchased TuneTo.com in April 2001 and relaunched it as Rhapsody in December, 2001. Rhapsody was the Pioneer to provide music subscription services on demand through its vast music library. Its sources of content have been the major music publishing companies such as Naxos Records, Universal Records, EMI, BMG, Sony etc. Its parent company, Listen.com was acquired by RealNetworks in 2003 and Rhapsody has become RealRhapsody before being reverted to its original name again. By 2004, it has the music library of 72,000 albums. In 2007, Music On the Go allowed the subscribers of Rhapsody to use its collections.
In 2010, Rhapsody was spun off rom RealNetworks amidst the dropping subscribers rate and financial crisis. The owners restructured Rhapsody and was backed by major companies like MTV Networks and Viacom. Having established as new entity, Rhapsody launched a new logo and brought changes in subscription rates. The company has gained 100,000 new subscription since its foundation as an independent company. In 2011, Rhapsody acquired Napster, an online music store.
Apart from music subscription services, Rhapsody distributes the Rhapsody Music Software for free of cost to organize the media library. Its fourth generation, Rhapsody 4 was released in 2013. Rhapsody has also teamed up with MetroPCS, a wireless Carrier to offer music plans to the subscribers.
