Power Gas Utility Residential Customer Satisfaction Study, the company ranked first in the Western U.S. Category. NW Natural was set up in 1859. The original name of the company was Portland Gas Light Company. In 1913, it was purchased by the American Power and Light Company and as a result, the company changed its name to the Portland Gas and Coke Company and after that adopted the name Northwest Natural Gas Company in 1958. NW Natural has Three subsidiaries: NNG Financial Corporation, Gill Ranch Storage LLC and NW Natural Gas Storage LLC.
