What is NTC?
Nepal Telecom, also known as Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited, is a provider of telecommunication services, headquartered in Bhadrakali Plaza, Kathmandu, Nepal. It has a wide network of branch offices in over 184 locations across the nation. The company provides fixed line telephony, broadband and fixed-line internet services, GSM and CDMA Mobile services, 3G services, prepaid and postpaid services, GPRS and international roaming services. Nepal Telecom started business operations in 1913. In the initial years, it was named the Telecommunication Department and in 1969, it was renamed as the Telecommunications Development Board. The Communications Corporation Act 1971 was passed in 1971, which resulted in the formation of the Nepal Telecommunication Corporation. The company is the recipient of the Number one Taxpayer' title for two years in a row, Financial Year 2009-10 and Financial Year 2010-11.
