History
K-Cup packs was invented by two college batch mates, named Peter Dragone and John Sylvan in 1990. The first brewer of the company was B2000, made for office use and introduced in 1998. Other major invention was tea K-Cup packs shaped in 2000. The new home use brewer B100 comes into play in 2004. The
Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (GMCR) raised their shareholding level to 43% in 2003 and finally purchased the Keurig company for $160 million, results in wholly owned subsidiary of GMCR.
Products
Keurig coffee machines are designed in such a way that they can be easily used with K-cups packs. The coffee maker machines which are produced under
Breville license are manufactured in Australia. Keurig also sells brewers which works with new
VUE packs, replacing old K-cup Packs. Additionally, Vue packs system give more control to the brew and also comes in different mug sizes. Vue Packs can be recycled after use. The Rivo system is another product made by Keurig which is designed to provide
