Jeep is widely known for the its use in during World War II by US Army and Allies forces. It was 1939 when the need of reliable and flexible vehicle was Felt by the US Army which could enough to carry the load; equipped with the wheelbase upto 75 inches, windshield; has a less weight and four wheeler. Out of 135 companies, only Three agreed to fulfill the specifications drawn by the US Army. Bantam, Willy-Overland and Ford built the prototype. Willys called their models as MA and the MB while the models of the Ford are termed as GP and GPW. In 1945, it introduced the same model for civilian use and it was 1950 when Willys registered the Jeep name. Willys was acquired by Kaiser Motors in 1953 and Jeep brand was Kaiser-Jeep in 1963. Kaiser Motors was purchased by AMC, which was later acquired by Chrysler Corporation in 1987.
Jeep is known for its performance on the off road. Its third generation model, Wrangler is equipped with the front and rear axles to provide durability and strength. Its short wheelbases, light frames, and ability to move anywhere are the popular features.
