What is Government Vellore Medical College Vellore?

Government Vellore medical college is recognised by Medical Council of India which is located near the vellore city in tamil nadu. Being established in 2005 this college offers the recognised course of mbbs by Medical Council of India and it is affiliated to m.g.r Medical University and is established in the year 2005. The plans to set up this college began way back in 1997 where there was a tuberculosis sanatorium previously. The college admits students in the MBBS course through a nationwide counseling process not only from the state but also the students are admitted from all over the parts of India. The hospital has the interns who are medical students of the college and doing their crri. This college got a grant for building up its campus from the government of tamil nadu and the funds were contributed by the government. The college has intake of 100 students every year in the MBBScourse. The hospital in the college campus also gives training to the interns and provides special investigative facilities to the patients. The facilities provided includes computed tomography, tmt, mri, echocardiography, maternal and obstetrics, neonatal care and many other facilities at affordable prices or even free facilities to those patients who cannot afford. Even the Government College which has an attached hospital uses high tech equipments for teaching on the job to the interns on ct scan, endoscopy etc. so that the students can have an insight into the working of the hospital.
