What is Goodyear Contact?
The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company doing business as “Goodyear” is a multinational tire manufacturing organization based in the United States. The organization was rooted in 1898 by the diligent work of an American inventor “Frank Augustus Seiberling”. The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company got its name after Charles Goodyear, an American manufacturing engineer who invented and developed a process to vulcanize rubber. The first plant of the organization was financed by Lucius C. Miles, brother-in-law of the Frank Augustus Seiberling. Initially, the organization had employed thirteen employees and manufactured rubber horseshoe pads, bicycle and carriage tires, and poker chips. The organization offers an extensive range of automobile tires.
In the year 1901, the originator Frank Augustus Seiberling provided racing tires to Henry Ford, an American industrialist and founder of the multinational automaker “The Ford Motor Company”. Year after Year, the organization expanded its areas of operation and manufactured its first aircraft tire in the year 1909. In the year 1911, The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company researched with airship design and additionally produced observation balloons and airships that were supplied to the United States Army Air Service throughout World War I.
The organization is engaged in the manufacturing of race cars, automobiles, light trucks, Sport Utility Vehicle (SUVs), commercial trucks, farm equipment, airplanes, and heavy earth-mover machinery. It operates more than 51 plants in approximately 22 North American, European, the Middle East, African, Latin American and Asian countries including, the United States, Luxembourg, the United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Colombia, Indonesia and many others. The manufacturing plant in Freeport, Illinois in the United States was acquired by the Titan Tire Corporation in the year 2005 and continues manufacturing agricultural tires under the brand name “Goodyear” under the license issued by the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.
On July 10 in the year 2008, the Reputation Institute (RI) rated the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company as one of the most respected companies across the United States. The organization has also been placed at sixteenth position on the third annual listing of companies on an American business magazine namely Forbes. The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company began trading on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) on August 5, 1927 which was later moved to the National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotations (NASDAQ) Stock Market on December 18, 2012 and has been listed under the remarkable symbol “GT”.
