Ford or the Ford Motor Company is one of the leading multinational automotive companies in the world. Ford has also owned majority stakes in other automobile brands such as Troller, Blue Diamond Trucks, Ford Sollers, Jiangling Motors etc around the world. Ford was founded in 1903 and is Pioneer in establishing the new methods in the manufacturing of vehicles such as introduction of assembly lines. Some of its best selling models are Ford Model T, Ford 64.5 Mustang, Ford SVT 03-04 Cobra, Ford Falcon, Ford F series, Ford 2010 Super Duty etc. Apart from automobile production, the company also provides vehicle financing services through Ford Motor Credit Company, which was founded in 1959. The foundation of Ford was laid down by Henry Ford in 1903 with the capital of $28,000. The introduction of assembly lines in the factory of Ford was proved breakthrough for the company as the production were dramatically increased. The company went on to leading position with the sale of its T Model. It was the profit and reputation of company that helped in its surviving during Great Depression. After 1910, the company was expanded to other nations such as Ireland, Germany, Argentina, Denmark, England, Australia etc. It acquired Lincoln Motor Company in 1922 to get the access of luxury car market. It launched its Mercury brand in 1939 which has gone defunct in 2011. As the World War 2 broke out, Ford was engaged in the production of tanks, jeeps, engines, bombers etc to be supplied to the Allies. In 1960's, Ford introduced its one of the bestselling car, Ford Mustang and in 80's the company was the owner of Jaguar Cars (later on sold to Tata Motors) and Aston Martin. In 2008, the production units of the company touched 5.532 million mark. The manufacturing plants of the company are located in the USA, Canada, China, South Africa, Australia, Brazil etc. Ford also produces race cars for several auto racing events such as Fia World Championships, NASCAR, World Rally Championship, World Sportscar, Formula One Championship etc. It is one of the few constructors to win the championships at FIA World Championships. Its models are used by the teams like Team Penske, Roush Fenway Racing, Richard Petty Motorsports etc at NASCAR. Ford has been associated with Formula one from 1960's to 2004. Ford also launched its eco friendly models such as Crown Victoria, which could be operated with CNG. Some of its flexible fuel vehicles are Courier, Ford EcoSport, Ford Fiesta etc. Ford has also been the sponsor of the many events and stadiums like Ford Center and Uefa Champions League.
