The company offers a diverse portfolio of clothing and footwear products for the persons of all ages, including running shoes, basketball shoes, casual shoes, sandals, shorts, Hoodies, T-shirts, jackets, hats and more. Its history dates back to 1963, when the Kinney Shoe Corporation was acquired by the F.W. Woolworth Company and as a result, the former became the division of the latter. Kinney set up the Foot Locker company in September 1974 in California as a shoe store along with Susie Casuals and Stylco. In the year 1988, the subsidiary company F.W. Woolworth Company gave birth to an independent company Woolworth Corporation. At that time, Woolworth was the operator of Foot Locker. Woolworth's major breakthrough was the purchase of Champs Sports. After acquisition, it changed the name of the purchased company to the Woolworth Athletic Group. In 1999, Woolworth adopted the new name Venator Group. After two years, the Northern Reflections stores were re-branded as Foot Locker Inc. In the year 2013, the company stepped up by acquiring Runners Point Group. Foot Locker also provides online shopping facilities to its customers.
