Dixie Electric Membership Corporation (DEMCO) is the distributor of electric services that was established in August 1938 in the United States as a non-profit membership corporation. It provides its services to around 102,000 members in different areas and covers nearly 14,700 square miles. It is the electric cooperative and is headquartered in Louisiana, United States. The company took possession over the Greensburg Utilities in 1941 to started its services in St. Helena Parish. The Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition or SCADA system was installed and executed by the company in 1976. It started its Rural Electric Youth Tour Program in 1978 and Meter reading and cycle billing programs in 1982.
It expands its operations in different areas and also executed Automated Outage Reporting System (ORS) in the year 1990.
