History
Charter One Bank was established in the year 1934 whereas the parent company, i.e. "Citizens Financial Group, Inc." was formed back in the year 1828 that was taken over by "The Royal
Bank of Scotland Group" in the year 1988. The bank owns a strong network of over 1300 branches and 3,200 ATM centers in eleven states of the country with the headquarters based in Cleveland, Ohio. "Charter One" was taken over by "RBS Citizens Financial Group" in the year 2004, which decided to keep the name, while the branches in New York and Vermont were renamed as "Citizens Bank". The bank is an active member of Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).
