What is BCBSM?
BCBSM or Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan is a health insurance company, which offers affordable health insurance solutions throughout the state. It is one of the 39 independent companies of Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA), one of the leading health insurance providers across the world. The Main office of the company is located in Downtown Detroit, Michigan. Its main building was constructed in 1971 and has 22 floors.
BCBSM History
Blue Cross Blue Shield had entered into Michigan market in 1939; however, since 1920s BCBS plans were available in other parts of the country. The Company has commenced operations in the state after the formation of Michigan Society for Group Hospitalization. Initially,
IT Works along with Michigan Medical Service. BCBSM had started to serve business customers in 1940 and since then, provides group policies. In the same year, it was changed to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan.

BCBMS offers wide range of Dental, Vision and Group Plans such as PPO Pediatric, EPO Standard with Vision, PPO Standard and PPO Extra. It serves more than 807,000 members across the state. The Company maintains the network of 5,000 physicians and 17,000 other medical specialists.
