AIS Thailand originally Advanced Info Service PCL is a GSM Mobile phone operator in Thailand. It offer telecommunication services like mobile phone telephony, fixed line telephony. The company has thirty five million subscribers till December 2012. It was started in April 1986 as computer rental enterprises. AIS introduced analog 900 MHz phone services in the year 1990 and became the first company to allow its subscribers to use GSM 900 frequency. It is managed by the InTouch plc with its head office in Samsen Nai, Phayathai, Bangkok. Some of its associate companies are Advanced Contact Center Company Limited (ACC), Advanced Datanetwork Communications Company Limited (ADC), DataNetwork Solutions Company Limited (DNS) and Digital Phone Company Limited (DPC). The company is owned by number of members such as InTouch plc which holds 40.45 percent stake and a group of Three companies namely Singapore Telecommunications, Thai Trust Fund and OCBC Nominees holds 23.32 percent stake and the rest is owned by many others.
