What is Abdo?
ABDO was shaped in 1986 when its two antecedents, the Association of Dispensing Opticians and the Faculty of Dispensing Opticians, were consolidated after the Health and Social Security Act of 1984. The calling of apportioning opticians has been controlled willfully since 1926 and, as a statutory calling, by the Opticians Act subsequent to 1958. Since such time the behavior of apportioning opticians has in this manner been managed incompletely by lawful procurements, by guidance given by the General Optical Council, and by ABDO's own Advice to Fellows.
